Patricia Mclaughlin
Tricia McLaughlin is currently employed at RMIT University, Australia in the Centre for Science, Health and Engineering Education research. Her background includes lecturing to postgrads, undergrads and research supervision, as well as overseeing the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching in the College of Science, Engineering and Health at RMIT. Prior to her role in academia, Tricia was employed by the Parliament of Victoria as Executive Officer to the Economic Development Committee of the Parliament. Tricia has also been employed as an advisor to the Federal Minister for Industrial Relations in the Hawke Government. She has been the recipient of a number of competitive research grants, has led ALTC and OLT grants in scholarship of learning and teaching and has received a number of university and national teaching awards. Her research publications, including three books, span lifelong learning themes and the scholarship of learning and teaching. Tricia currently leads an OLT funded strategic commissioned project entitled the “Global Canopy.” She is also currently Chief Investigator on the federally funded Maths, Science, Schools Partnership Project ‘Making Something out of Maths.”
