Gwen Lawrie
Gwen Lawrie is a Teaching-Focused Professor in the School of Chemistry & Molecular Biosciences at The University of Queensland and is the Deputy Associate Dean Academic for Curriculum Design and Teaching Innovation in the Faculty of Science. She has a BSc in Applied Chemistry (Sheffield Hallam), PhD in Physical Chemistry (Cranfield University) and GradDip in Secondary Education. Gwen works at the nexus between chemistry education and higher education research which has enabled research outcomes to be embedded into evidence-based teaching practices. Her teaching has been recognised through UQ and Australian Awards for Teaching Excellence and she is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. As a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, and recipient of the RACI Fensham Medal, Gwen is an active member of the Australian chemical education community. She is also the current Chair of the Editorial Board for the UK Royal Society of Chemistry journal Chemistry Education Research and Practice, having been a former Editor in Chief.
