John L Kertesz
John Kertesz is a researcher and teacher educator at the University of Tasmania where he is the Lecturer in Applied Learning. He has over twenty years of classroom teaching experience including school leadership positions.
John's military background and school teaching experience motivate him strongly to break down the barriers between theory and practice and foster independent professionalism. He has a long standing interest in the evaluation of teaching practice and the application of professional standards. John is embarked on an ongoing study of design-end standards and outcomes attribution tools to verify the quality of units before delivery, and to ensure the validity of unit and course evaluations. John also is a strong supporter of alternative assessment methods, such as ePortfolios, and is researching the use of ICT tools to enrich the quality of online learning and teaching, as well as lecturer and teacher engagement with new technologies.
