Iwona Czaplinski
Iwona Czaplinski is a PhD candidate in the Science and Engineering Faculty/ Faculty of Education, at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). In her research, Iwona is looking at innovative approaches to developing learning experiences within technology-enhanced learning and teaching environments, with a focus on STEM in Higher Education.
Iwona holds two Masters degrees from Poland and Australia. Iwona’s first Masters of Arts, was completed at Jagiellonian University (Poland) within linguistics with specialization in methodology of teaching Foreign Languages. During her studies Iwona won multiple scholarships to France such as Grenoble 3, Stendhal; Lyon 2, Lumiere; Paris, Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP) and Belgium (Bruxelles, Univeriste Libre de Bruxelles), allowing her to work as a lecturer in linguistics and didactics, as well as managing one of CCIP Examination Centres in Poland.
With her second higher degree, Masters of Philosophy recently completed at the University of Queensland, Iwona investigated the opportunities for an action (affordances) of Information Communication Technologies used within blended learning framework for a Foreign Language class at university level.
Currently, Iwona works as a Learning and Teaching Strategy Development Coordinator in the Science and Engineering Faculty at QUT. In this role, Iwona assists in implementing faculty’s learning and teaching strategic goals. Having worked at three different universities across two continents, and in various roles, Iwona has an important multi and cross-cultural experience in research, learning and teaching and university governance.
