Iris Vardi

Dr Iris Vardi has been involved in education for over 25 years in a wide variety of roles including high school teacher, lecturer, tutor, academic skills adviser, academic staff developer, director of teaching and learning, manager learning and teaching centre, and educational consultant. She has taught human biology, education, linguistics and English-as-a-second language. Iris is passionate about education and improving teaching and learning. Her research in assessment, critical writing, student success factors and feedback over the last 15 years has improved learning outcomes and student satisfaction. Iris is the winner of the HERDSA 2012 Conference Creative Presentation Award, the author of the 2013 HERDSA Guide Developing Students’ Critical thinking in the Higher Education Class, the author of the 2012 HERDSA Guide Effective Feedback for Student Learning in Higher Education and the recipient of a 2012 HERDSA Fellowship which recognised her “important contribution to higher education at the local, national and international levels”.
