Nayana Parange

Nayana is a physician, a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist, a researcher and a teacher. She has more than 20 years of ultrasound experience in diverse settings. Her area of expertise is tertiary level obstetric and gynaecologic ultrasound and in particular, fetal echocardiography. She is currently the Program Director of the Postgraduate Medical Sonography Programs at the University of South Australia and is course-coordinating and teaching three courses. She is also very interested in technology-enhanced learning and the use of simulators in teaching. She is keen to inculcate research mindedness in her postgraduate students, and has embedded Research Skills Framework across the programs. She is passionate about primary health care and deeply committed to improving perinatal mortality and morbidity. To that effect, she has been involved developing and delivering many outreach activities locally, nationally and internationally.
