Sonia Ferns

Ms Sonia Ferns (PhD Candidate, MEd, BEd, Diploma in Training and Assessment Systems) Sonia is leading the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) strategic project at Curtin University. Previously Sonia was responsible for overseeing the review of all courses at the University and ensuring a quality student experience. Sonia previously managed academic delivery across regional locations and was Dean Teaching and Learning for the Division of Resources and Environment. She is on the Board of Directors for the Australian Collaborative Education Network. Sonia was a member of the lead team for the national project: Assessing the impact of work-integrated learning (WIL) on student work readiness and a project team member for the OLT project: Building institutional capacity to enhance access, participation and progression in WIL. She is currently leading the project Developing strategies to maximise industry contribution and engagement with the WIL experience. Sonia is on the editorial board for the Asia-Pacific Journal of Cooperative Education.
