Maria Barrett
Maria Barrett is STEM Widening Participation Coordinator in QUT's Science and Engineering Faculty and provides STEM outreach programs to primary and secondary schools under the university’s equity initiative. Maria manages the successful Extreme Science van program which has had a state-wide reach to over 140,000 students during its 14 years of operation. Maria is a doctoral student in the QUT Faculty of Education and has expertise in primary science and environmental education. Her work with Tullawong State High School was recognised by a Science Education Partnership Award at the 2014 Peter Doherty Awards.
