Christine Oughtred

Christine Oughtred Manager, Digital Literacy Programs Deakin University Library Deakin University defines Digital Literacy as ‘Using technologies to find, use and disseminate information’. In her position as Manager, Digital Literacy Programs Christine encourages an innovative approach to the development and implementation of a comprehensive, scalable and sustainable Library digital literacy program. She advises on the development of pedagogically sound learning experiences and assessment, working in partnership with professional librarians, Deakin Learning Futures and Faculty staff. Her role leads development and dissemination of good practice in achieving discipline-specific digital literacy learning outcomes across all faculties and campuses at Deakin University. The poster presentation at HERDSA 2015 ‘From CRAAP to Correct’ gives an outline of one learning activity, conducted with teaching staff of a first year unit, which led to better outcomes in judging accuracy and reliability of information.
