Valeria S Cotronei-Baird

Valerie Cotronei-Baird is a PhD candidate at the Melbourne Centre for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Melbourne. The working title of Valerie’s thesis is: Integrating employability skills in the business Curriculum. Valerie is also an academic in the Department of Management and Marketing at the University of Melbourne, where she works full time as the Head Tutor of the subject Organisational Behaviour. Valerie is thus responsible for the coordination and delivery of one of the compulsory subjects in the Bachelor Commerce. Valerie has been instrumental in maintaining a consistently high quality of subject delivery in a classroom setting, ensuring that students receive a rich and rewarding experience in the subject. This success has been achieved through a comprehensive and systematic tutor training system that Valerie has devised, implemented, and managed. Through her mastery of the Learning Management System and other online teaching tools and resources Valerie has been able to provide lecturers, tutors, and students with advice and assistance beyond the immediate classroom setting. Valerie is the recipient of the Faculty of Business & Economics 2010 Dean’s Award for excellence in tutoring.
