Karen Whelan is Assistant Dean, Learning & Teaching in the Science & Engineering Faculty at QUT. She has strategic leadership for learning and teaching across the Faculty's five program areas: Engineering, IT, Science, Maths and Urban Development, that have a combined enrolment of around 9500 students. She has previously managed Learning & Teaching Development for QUT including coordinating the Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice, a mandatory program for all early career academics. Karen is an engineering educator and is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Programme in Higher Education Research at Lancaster University in the UK.
