Rose Nash Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia 2015

Rose Nash

Rosie, is a self-confessed “prac-ademic” currently in the final year of her PhD in Pharmacy Education. Driven by her passion and commitment to pharmacy and quality enhancement of Higher Education this is a PhD she hasn’t found “hard”. Rosie pursued this area to address concerns she had as a result of 10 plus years experience in a variety of pharmacy practice settings, her profession centred beliefs and her experiences with teaching today’s pharmacy undergraduates. In 2014, through a Vice Chancellors award for Teaching Excellence, the UTAS community, recognised Rosie as an “agent for Quality Enhancement of teaching & learning initiatives that assure graduates (future health professionals) are competent lifelong learners.” Rosie’s work continues to attract interest cross discipline, nationally and internationally. In 2014/2015, through providing staff with professional development and support Rosie has made significant contributions to ensure the 90 courses in her Faculty fulfil their AQF requirements. In her spare time, Rosie champions for an embedded and sustainable approach to Quality Enhancement in the sector and is hopeful her team will secure OLT funding for their Quality Pursuit project http://www.assuringlearning.com/quality-pursuit in the near future. One day, Rosie would love to follow in the footsteps of some of her HE mentors and heroes and contribute to the future of the HE sector through a HERDSA fellowship.
