Karen Young

Karen Young is a lecturer in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment (SEBE) at Deakin University. She received her interdisciplinary doctorate in Visual Culture from Monash University. Karen worked in industry and ran her own businesses for over 15 years before returning to Higher Education to teach and research in work-integrated learning (WIL). Her primary research domain is in WIL curriculum, with a particular interest in reflective practices to enhance learning. Karen also has a Faculty-wide policy and project management role, working with the Associate Dean (Teaching & Learning) on projects relating to WIL practices, processes and outcomes.
